Handstand Arts (who manage Circus City) are pleased to be partners in this new, paid showcasing opportunity for artists and companies based in England this August.
For 2021, we will pilot a showcase programme that connects performance works and new performance ideas with international partners during the last two weeks in August, connecting digitally to Edinburgh’s Festivals.
This call-out is an invitation to artists/companies working within live performance to submit proposals for two core strands of the Horizon 2021 programme:
- Presentation – performance work that is ready to tour internationally
- Residency – performance ideas that are in development

Commissioned by Arts Council England, Horizon is being shaped and delivered by a new consortium made up of Battersea Arts Centre, Dance4, Fierce, GIFT, MAYK and Transform. In August 2021, we will deliver an artist-focused international showcase as part of the Edinburgh Festivals.
With a focus on forging new relationships between artists making work in England and international partners, the project will include streamed live performance, digital works and other events for audiences around the world.
